Befriend a Child are a children's charity that offer 1-1 and group befriending and mentoring programmes and projects for children living in difficult life circumstances across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. At the heart of Befriend a Child are a team of dedicated volunteers who act as befrienders and mentors for the children they support, and the charity are always looking for more volunteers to match with children on their waiting list.

Hannah worked as Befriend a Child's Marketing and Communications Manager and as part of her role delivered a multi-channelled marketing campaign with the aim of raising awareness for the charity and engaging new volunteers to come on board as befrienders and mentors and change the lives of local children.

Hannah engaged with current volunteers of the charity to help in creating audience profiles and volunteer personas which allowed us to effectively target individuals and groups who may be interested in the role of a befriended or mentor. Hannah took a multi-channelled approach to the campaign utilising social media, blogs, PR and community group engagement. The campaign was a huge success and resulted in over 350 new volunteer enquiries and by the second week, the charity had onboarded 40 new volunteers.
