Every year we celebrate International Women's Day on the 8th of March and every year marketing professionals across the globe outdo themselves with clever and creative campaigns that stick with their audiences well after International Women's Day is over.
This year's theme of Break the Bias saw marketers push boundaries and challenge stereotypes women have had to face for years and here are a couple of our favourites that really stood out from the crowd.
CPB London's Imagine a CEO...
This campaign really nailed the Break the Bias message, challenging our innermost perceptions of different professions and scenarios and asking the audience to picture that individuals gender, so simple, yet so effective, we loved it.
The campaign was inspired by research CPB London carried out with the help of Prospectus Global to assess how children today are affected by unconscious gender bias which found that indeed children are still affected by gender stereotypes.
Roccamore Respect High Heels
The visuals for this campaign alone? Amazing. The message behind the campaign? Powerful. Danish shoe brand Roccamore chose to focus on the gap of female board members in Danish companies which, at present shows there is only 1 woman for every 4 men in senior board positions.
Roccamore showed us that they can Break the Bias and do it backwards, and in high heels!
Every year as marketers we are presented with opportunities to share brand values and beliefs through the power of great content, will your audience remember your last sales pitch? Probably not, but what they will remember is where you took a stand on the important issues facing them in day to day life and that human level engagement is invaluable.
